How are you planning to observe National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)? Held each October,
NDEAM aims to educate about employment issues and celebrate the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities. NDEAM is led by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy and many observances are held at the grassroots level across the nation every year.
Learn how you can support NDEAM by visiting the ODEP website: www.dol.gov/ndeam.
The Board has several initiatives that raise awareness about employment for individuals with disabilities. NDEAM focuses on the value of increasing employment for people with disabilities and celebrates the many contributions made by America’s workers with disabilities. BPDD’s Take Your Legislator to Work and Employment First projecs help policymakers and the general public better understand how improving public policies and creating more opportunities leads to higher employment rates, better health outcomes, more productive workplaces, and less public dependence.
