We are hosting a virtual workshop to help you prepare to make the case that disability issues—like family caregiving, special education, non-driver transportation–are seen as important priorities to address in the state budget! You’ll meet other citizen advocates and practice talking in small groups about disability issues that matter to you, so you are prepared to share your story and lived experience with your legislators. Register for our noon workshop on March 29th.
These budget training workshops will be a continuation of the previous online training and we will continue to schedule them throughout the state budget process to keep you informed. You do not need to have participated in the first training to register for the training on the 29th.
This training will help you:
- Get up to date information about where we are in the state budget process.
- Prepare to attend a Joint Finance hearing and deliver a short, powerful message to budget writers about your disability priorities.
- If you can’t go, how to get your disability priority message to budget writers and your legislators.
- Preview of action steps you can take now and in the coming months to get disability priorities included in the state budget.
