Residents’ Rights Month is celebrated nationally each October and is organized by the National Consumer Voice for Quality Long-Term Care. The purpose is to celebrate and highlight residents living in long-term care settings of any form, their rights and those that support them.
Residents’ Rights Month started as Residents’ Rights Week in 1981. To celebrate the Self-Determination YouTube channel has teamed up with the Living Well project to create a new set of videos! The first video is below. Stay tuned on our social media this month as we share more videos.
People with disabilities have the same human rights as everyone else and these videos are meant to inform people of what their rights are! When people understand their rights, they have better lives!
