The Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities is making an effort to reach and interact with communities that are more diverse. Our programs, such as Partners in Policymaking, the Youth Leadership Forum, and SPARKS grants are available to everyone in Wisconsin. We are profiling various individuals that highlight our efforts for everyone.

This month we hear from Gwen McGee of Milwaukee. Gwen is a recent graduate of the Board’s Partners in Policymaking program. She says, “The Partners in Policymaking program has definitely strengthened my role as an advocate for individuals with disabilities. I have acquired many skills and obtained so much knowledge through my participation in the program, which allows me the opportunity to navigate through many decision making processes with confidence and pride. I would encourage anyone who is advocating on behalf of themselves or others to become involved with the Partners program!”
