{"id":2983,"date":"2018-12-12T18:22:35","date_gmt":"2018-12-12T18:22:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wi-bpdd.org\/?p=2983"},"modified":"2018-12-12T18:22:35","modified_gmt":"2018-12-12T18:22:35","slug":"building-full-lives-participant-stories","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wi-bpdd.org\/index.php\/2018\/12\/12\/building-full-lives-participant-stories\/","title":{"rendered":"Building Full Lives: Participant Stories"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities collaborates with organizations in Wisconsin to expand community-based services to support people to safely explore, connect, and contribute to their communities while developing specific life skills.<\/p>\n<p>These \u201cBuilding Full Life\u201d (BFL) services meet the new requirements of the Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Settings Rule and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) by supporting people in the community on a pathway to greater independence, meaningful connections and relationships, and employment.<\/p>\n<p>For people who are already employed in the community, Building Full Life services can provide them with opportunities to continue to learn and grow by building skills necessary to maintain healthy lives and relationships, and be involved in their communities.<\/p>\n<p>Meet David (left in picture) and Wes (right in picture), two participants in BPDD&#8217;s Building Full Lives project.
