Each month we feature a different leader in Wisconsin living with a disability. \u201cWhat\u2019s the Word?\u201d is an opportunity to hear directly from self-advocates about what\u2019s important to them. Click the button below to read the full article.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n “<\/span>This past November, I traveled to Denver for the Arc National Convention, and I spoke on a panel about digital advocacy. Digital\u00a0advocacy is doing advocacy on social\u00a0media with using Facebook and other\u00a0sites to get advocates and their families the info they\u00a0need. Since speaking in Denver, I have spoken to other self-advocacy groups in other parts of the country such as Southwest Colorado and Nevada and hope to speak to groups in all 50 states and I even have a scratch-off map to keep track.\u00a0I talk to other self-advocate groups in other states about how to get more involved in advocacy and how to set up a Facebook group for their state\/area and how to tell their stories.”\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
