{"id":10189,"date":"2021-03-22T14:47:34","date_gmt":"2021-03-22T19:47:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wi-bpdd.org\/?p=10189"},"modified":"2021-04-05T17:21:06","modified_gmt":"2021-04-05T22:21:06","slug":"self-determination-conference-call-for-proposals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wi-bpdd.org\/index.php\/2021\/03\/22\/self-determination-conference-call-for-proposals\/","title":{"rendered":"Self-Determination Conference: Call for Proposals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.6.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.6.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.6.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.8.1&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Are you interested in presenting at the<strong> 2021<\/strong> Self-Determination Conference?\u00a0 We are seeking session proposals for Tuesday, October 19 &amp; Wednesday, October 20, 2021.\u00a0 <strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>This year\u2019s theme: <\/strong><strong>Growing Stronger Together <\/strong><strong>will help people with disabilities lead more Self-Determined lives by recognizing the valued role communities play in our lives!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Things to know when submitting a proposal:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proposals <strong>must<\/strong> include a self-advocate(s) as a lead or co-presenter.<\/li>\n<li>Panels should be limited to no more than 3 people.<\/li>\n<li>Conference sessions <strong>must<\/strong> support Self-Determination and Self-Directed principles.<\/li>\n<li>Presentations will be in person <strong><u>and<\/u><\/strong> on video this year. Activity and tools must be available on both platforms. Presentations should focus on practical, take-home strategies that people can implement in their work and lives.<\/li>\n<li>Sessions should not promote specific agencies or products.<\/li>\n<li>Repeat or similar sessions from previous conferences will not be considered.<\/li>\n<li>Sessions will be 1.5 hours in length.<\/li>\n<li>A typical session has an audience of 50-75 attendees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>All proposals are due by 12 p.m. on April 15, 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Please submit your completed proposal form to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fil Clissa at <a href=\"mailto:Fil.Clissa@wisconsin.gov\">Fil.Clissa@wisconsin.gov<\/a>\u00a0 or mail to BPDD, 101 E.
