Wisconsin Promise is a project that supports more than 1,000 participating Wisconsin families with 14 to 16 year old teens who receive Supplemental Social Security Income (SSI). The goal is to provide resources and services to youth receiving SSI and their families so they can achieve their education and career goals.

The Board has been partnering with PROMISE to improve outcomes for participants. Recently, the Board worked with more than 40 teens and their families about how best to obtain services and to improve their self-advocacy.

BPDD will hold additional regional trainings for PROMISE participants this summer.

An upcoming Promise event will be held in  at RecPlex, 9900 Terwall Terrace, Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158 on June 15, 2017 from 5:30pm-7:30pm. For more information, Promise Participants should see http://wi-bpdd.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Kick-off-flyer.pdf
